Troubleshooting, Questions and Answers

In this section we present some common questions with problems encountered and offer possible solutions to resolve them.

Q. I can see the LEDS lighting up but I cannot hear anything?

A. Try 'Ticking' the 'MONITOR-THRU' option. Make sure that the Playback level is up and that it is Checked or Unmuted. Make sure that you have selected the correct audio playback device. Goto SETTINGS->PLAYBACK DEVICE and select another device number, close and restart PC Record and try again.

Q. I cannot see any signal on the LED lights.

A. Try selecting a different input device. Goto SETTINGS->RECORD DEVICE and select another device number, close and restart PC Record and try again.

Q. The sound is distorting.

A. Try turning down the volume level of your audio source. Try connecting an impedance matcher in-line with your audio leads to de-sensitize the signal. Try lowering the recording level. Make sure that the source signal is not distorting in itself.

Q. The sound keeps cutting out.

A. Make sure that your audio source is not cutting out in itself. Adjust the Latency and/or Number of Buffers by going to SETTINGS, then close and restart PC Record and try again. You will want to increase these values if you are experiencing cutting out.

Q. I have selected the correct Sound Device but I still cannot get a signal from my HiFi into PC Record?

A. You may need to Open the Windows Mixer (Settings->Mixer Record) and SELECT the correct source. (ie. LINE-IN or AUX-IN).

Q. I can hear the source echoing?

A. You may need to Open the Windows Mixer (Settings->Mixer Playback) and mute the source's signal. On the other hand, you may want to directly monitor the audio source through your mixer and NOT through PC Record, in which you need to 'Untick' the 'MONITOR-THRU' box on the main panel (bottom right).

Q. I have entered my Unlock Key but nothing!? What now?

A. Contact us immediately and give us your details and we will immediately issue you with a working key. We can diagnose Key problems easily so no need for any panic.

Q. I just downloaded the DEMO but I cannot connect my audio device to my PC?

A. You will need to obtain Audio Leads. These can be purchased from most electrical retailers, however, Impedance Matchers are not so easily available therefore we sell an audio lead kit HERE which includes all necessary audio leads, and an Impedance Matcher. With our kit, almost anything can be connected to your PC for Recording purposes.
